- NIXI also operates as the National Internet Registry (NIR), known as the Indian Registry for Internet Names and Numbers (IRINN), and offers Internet Exchange Points (IXPs).

- It is organized by Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG) and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
- It raises awareness and promotes UA adoption, ensuring all domain names and email addresses are equally accessible.
