Context

Bharat Tex 2025, India’s largest global textile event, was held from February 14 to 17, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

  • With a target to triple textile exports to ₹9 lakh crore by 2030, Bharat Tex 2025 is aligned with the government’s vision of “Farm to Fibre, Fabric, Fashion, and Foreign Markets.”

What is Bharat-Tex 2025?

  • Bharat-Tex is a global event that brings that brings together the entire textile value chain from raw materials to finished products including accessories under one single roof.
  • It is the largest and the most comprehensive event of the textile industry, consisting of a mega expo spread across two venues, showcasing the entire textile ecosystem.
  • The event features policymakers and global CEOs, exhibitors, and international buyers from over 120 countries.
  • The event shall also feature a Special Innovation and Start up Pavilions.
  • The Bharat-Tex 2025 will have over 25 Leading Global textile bodies and associations from across the world, including
    • International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF)
    • International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC)

  • Largest Global Textile Event: Over 5,000 exhibitors and 1,20,000 trade visitors from 120+ countries participated.
  • Export Growth Target: India aims to boost textile exports from ₹3 lakh crore to ₹9 lakh crore by 2030.
  • Government Support: Policies like PM MITRA Parks, PLI Scheme, and Samarth aim to strengthen the textile value chain.
  • Skill Development & Research: ₹6.5 crores allocated to educational institutes for technical textile courses; 12 industry-focused skill development programs approved.
  • Sector-Specific Zones: Focus on intelligent manufacturing, technical textiles, home textiles, fabrics, apparel & fashion, handlooms, and handicrafts.
  • Indie Haat & Sustainable Fashion: Indie Haat promoted rural artisans, while the “Breathing Threads” fashion show highlighted sustainability in handloom textiles.
