PM-SHRI Yojana

 

Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) Yojana:

The PM-SHRI schools will have a modern, transformational and holistic method of imparting education.

Emphasis will be on a discovery oriented, learning centric way of teaching.

Focus will also be on modern infra including latest technology, smart classrooms, sports and more.

14,500 schools across India will be upgraded under the Pradhan Mantri Schools For Rising India (PM-SHRI) Yojana.

  1. O. Chidambaram Pillai

He was popularly known as Kappalottiya Tamilan (The Tamil Helmsman).

Chidambaram started an Indian-owned shipping company called the Swadeshi Shipping Company in October 1906.

He was a prominent spokesperson for the Indian National movement in the Madras Presidency along with Subramanya Siva and Subramanya Bharathi.

Tuticorin Coral Mills strike of 1908 allowed him to spread the nationalist movement amongst the working class years before Gandhiji’s entrance into the field.

‘75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow’

75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow is an annual platform at the International Film Festival of India held in Goa, to identify, encourage and nurture young creative talents from across various aspects of filmmaking.

The initiative was launched in 2021 to mark the 75th year of India’s independence as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.

The 75 creative minds will be shortlisted and selected on the basis of their submissions by an eminent jury, under the aegis of the National Film Development Corporation ahead of the 53rd edition of International Film Festival of India.

During the film festival in Goa, the selected 75 creators will also attend workshops and sessions especially curated by the masters of cinema.

Further, each team will take part in a group competition to make a short film in 53 hours.

The themes of the short film will be based on the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav wherein the teams will showcase their idea of India@100.

Eklavya Model Residential School

Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) are set up under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs  to provide quality middle and high level education to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in remote areas.
