Recently, the Finance Minister of Gujarat, Shri Kanu Desai, presented the Budget 2025-26 digitally via the National eVidhan Application (NeVA) at the Assembly.

What is the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA)?
- The National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) is a Mission Mode Project (MMP) under the Digital India Programme of the Government of India.
- It aims to digitise State Legislatures and make their functioning entirely paperless by transforming them into βDigital Housesβ.
- Key Features:
- Device-neutral and member-centric application designed to facilitate legislative operations seamlessly.
- Provides real-time access to crucial legislative information, including member details, rules of procedure, notices, bills, starred/unstarred questions and answers, committee reports, etc., directly on handheld devices or tablets.
- Current Status:
- 21 state legislatures have signed an MoU for implementation.
- The project was sanctioned for 17 legislatures, out of which:
- 9 legislatures have fully transitioned to digital platforms and are operational on NeVA.
