What is Ladki Bahin Yojana?

  • It is a welfare program launched by the Maharashtra government in 2024 to provide financial assistance to economically disadvantaged women between the age group of 21 to 65.
  • It provides Rs 1,500 per month for eligible women through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
  • The program aims to enhance their development through rehabilitation, economic development, and also focusing on their empowerment.
  • Eligibility:
    • The applicants should be between the age groups of 21 and 65 years old.
    • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
    • The combined annual income of the applicant’s family must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
    • None of the family members of the applicant should be an income taxpayer.
