About Kumbh Mela

- It is held at four sites—Haridwar (Ganges), Ujjain (Shipra), Nashik (Godavari), and Prayagraj (Ganges, Yamuna, Saraswati confluence).
- It is celebrated every 12 years at each site. Ardh-Kumbh is held every six years, and Maagh Kumbh is held annually in Prayagraj during January-February.
- Astrological Significance: Dates are determined by the alignment of the Sun, Moon, and Jupiter. Events in Nashik and Ujjain during a Leo zodiac position are called Simhastha Kumbh.
