Recently, the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) released its report that focuses on the role of governance in addressing biodiversity loss.

Key Highlights of the Report:
- Title: It was titled Transformative Change Assessment.
- The report called for an immediate change in human interactions with nature to prevent irreversible biodiversity loss and also to prevent threats to coral reefs and rainforests.
- The report highlighted the employment opportunities that are likely to be created by taking such immediate actions. It is estimated to generate USD 10 trillion in business opportunities and support 395 million jobs globally by 2030.

- Conservation: Focus on biocultural diversity, e.g., community forest management in Nepal.
- Sectoral Reform: Promote sustainable practices in agriculture, fisheries, and infrastructure.
- Adaptive Governance: Include diverse stakeholders, particularly Indigenous communities, in policymaking, enabling flexibility to tackle evolving challenges.
- Economic Transition: Shift to nature-positive economies by reforming subsidies and supporting sustainable businesses.
- Promoting Sustainability: Encouraging long-term thinking over short-term gains to address biodiversity challenges and ensure ecological balance.
