Conclusion of BEACH GAMES 2024 in Diu


The inaugural Beach Games 2024, held at the pristine blue flag certified Ghoghla Beach in Diu, marked a historic moment as the first multi-sports beach games in India. The event culminated with Madhya Pradesh securing the overall champion title, dominating the medal tally with an impressive total of 18 medals, including a remarkable haul of 7 golds.

Event Highlights:

  • The competition served as a platform to showcase the exceptional sporting prowess of Madhya Pradesh’s contingent, emphasizing the depth of talent nurtured within the state.
  • Maharashtra clinched 14 medals, including 3 golds, while Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and the hosts, Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Diu & Daman, secured an equal share of 12 medals each. Assam, with a notable achievement, bagged 8 medals, out of which 5 were Gold.

Participation and Diversity:

  • The event witnessed a robust display of sporting excellence from January 4 to 11, bringing together 1404 athletes, all under the age of 21, representing 28 states and Union Territories.
