Recently, the Ministry of Defence announced that the 15th edition of Aero India will be held from 10 to 14 February 2025.

About Aero India:
- It is a biennial air show event and aviation exhibition that serves as a global platform for defence manufacturers and military officials.
- It is organised by the Defence Exhibition Organisation, Ministry of Defence.
- It was first held in 1996.
- Aero India 2025 is set to showcase India’s increasing potential in indigenous defence production and attract global defence collaborations. The event will also highlight advancements in military aviation, cutting-edge technologies, and strategic partnerships.
- The exhibition aligns with India’s push for self-reliance in defence (Atmanirbhar Bharat), emphasising indigenous fighter jets, drones, and weapon systems.
- Global Participation: Major defence firms and countries are expected to participate, fostering joint ventures and technology transfers.
- New Technologies: Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), artificial intelligence-driven defence systems, and next-gen fighter aircraft will be key highlights.
Defence Exhibition Organisation:
- It was established in 1981.
- DEO is an autonomous organisation and was established to promote and enhance the export potential of the Indian defence industry.
- It also organises other notable events, such as the DEFEXPO.
